The Way to Derail Donald Trump

Donald Trump, adroitly, has put the Border Issue at front and center, getting there, "first," as he is quick to tell you, which is what smart negotiators do when attempting to railroad the negotiations. And, as we can well see, Mr. Trump is definitely a most formidable "train." Taking the subject and making it your own then leaves the others who are part of the negotiations, in this case, the other Republican candidates, to scramble quickly, either to put their different spin on the subject, in order to improve their perceived credibility regarding the matter. At this juncture, none have been able to derail Trump, in terms of his polling numbers, when all of them have seemed to have forgotten how best to throw the lead negotiator off track. As long as the other candidates continue to address this one issue, then Trump sits as the lead Engineer in the race. Given that each candidate has a Campaign Advisor far smarter than I, I wonder why those Advisors don't just try another tack, since their candidates are slipping on the rails. As long as the caboose continues to follow the engine, then the caboose never catches up. However, once the caboose derails from the track, the causal effect eventually catches up to the engine, slowing it down, if not coming to derail it, too.

In this case, to possibly toss an obstacle across the tracks in order to slow down the speeding Trump Express, one of the candidates simply needs to change the topic of race. In the movie, "Diner," three young men are sitting at a table, heatedly debating which singer they like to make out to, Sinatra or Mathis. Just then, the character, "Boogie" sits down with them. "So Boogie," they all want to know, "who would it be, Sinatra or Mathis?" While readying themselves to continue with the debate, seeing as how "Boogie" can only pick either Sinatra or Mathis, "Boogie" turns the table on them when he answers, "Darin." End of debate and now "Boogie" has taken over the table. And this is what one of the candidates needs to do, find another subject that is dear to the American people, own that subject, and then force Mr. Trump and the others to the back of the train.

My suggestion is for that candidate to concede the Border subject and then appeal to the People with a more impactful one, or even two, subjects. "I'm fine with securing the Borders," that candidate could acknowledge, "but what I really think is critical are the questions, 'How can we better secure our SCHOOLS and MOVIE THEATERS," where so many killings have taken place,'" and (2) "What can we do to keep people from killing more cops, about keeping cops from killing more people and from African Americans killing more African Americans? Children and shootings, those are just as important as building a Wall that will take ten years and billions of dollars that we don't already have, to build, don't YOU think?"

Ever heard a pin drop at a Presidential Nomination Debate? Here are two subjects that are today's news and a real fear among many Americans, regardless of Race. Here are two subjects that are very much alive and not doing very well, neither of which have been addressed in this campaign. Yes, the Borders are a concern, but, after all, it were Americans who readily brought in those Illegal Aliens, given that they provided cheap, hard-working labor when White folks and others were no longer willing to clean houses, dispose of our garbage or work on farms. We willingly brought them here and now we want them out, which would cut off our noses, given that to deport them would mean a labor shortage in so many businesses. And this, of course, would certainly drive up wages, IF White people suddenly didn't find it "beneath" themselves to go out and mow yards once again. Murder Score: Illegal Aliens, 1, Blacks Killing Blacks, 90,000/year.

ISIS has been brought up, but this Nation is rotting from the inside faster than from the outside. Talk to me instead, Mr. or Ms. Candidate, about the Mental Health issues in this country, the ones that include my relative, who suffers from Clinical Depression, the issue that has been the cause of so many shootings. Talk to me about the stuff that is going on in my HOME, or on my BLOCK, or in my COMMUNITY, those drug and alcohol abuse problems. Talk to me, too, about our Healthcare System, but then we Republicans didn't have a comeback to Obamacare either, now did we? Don't stand there and breathe your hot air, Mr. Trump, about how you are going to whip the Chinese into shape or get the Mexican government to pay for a Wall that, since we know how Government projects work, probably won't ever be finished "on time and under budget. And Mr. Trump, we don't have Dictators run our country, nor do we need egomaniacs to deal with the other egomaniacs who run the rest of the World."

Change the subject, Candidates, and you will change the course of this Nomination. Or, continue as you are and get told what to do.
